Today, 18 December 2010 while you in the United States were sleeping, we had a beautiful baptism of Alsedë Kamberi. There we about 15 members there to wish her well and to be a support. We had Samanta Sadiku give a talk on Baptism and Eris Mustafaraj talked on the Holy Ghost. They both did very well and the spirit was present. We then had the baptism, in cold water because the water heater did not work. The temperature outside the building was cold 34 degrees and the building inside wasn’t much warmer. Alsedë will never forget her baptism and she forgot all about the water being cold as soon as she was out of the portable font. We then sang hymns until they changed and then Alsedë bore a Bukurë (beautiful) and spiritual testimony. She expressed her gratitude for the missionaries who taught her and expressed her love for Motra Smith for being a loving grandma for her at church. Elder Smith as Branch President then welcomed her into the Branch and talked about the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end, one day at a time.
Elder Smith then drove the Sisters, Alsedë and her friends to her mother’s puna (work) to get her signature on the baptismal form. Her mother is so sweet and would have liked to be at the baptism but the employers here in Albania look at their workers as slaves and work them long and hard.
