I Love My Wife

This little post is for a sweet little woman. She is so Wonderful and I so grateful to have her as my eternal companion. She is so funny, so sweet and kind. So loving, beautiful and smart. I know that we have only been married for 7months on the 31st, but I am so grateful that I tracted in the rain on my mission.(there is a missionary myth that the more you tract in the rain, the more beautiful your wife is.)

In a Perfect World, Everyone Would Wear a Sash

Well, it's official. I am now a Girl Scout leader. Last night, I went to my first Brownie meeting (we actually ate brownies as our snack, too. Yum.). Jayna couldn't be more excited. Can't you tell from her picture? I will be a co-leader with 2 other moms, with 11 girls in our troop. I am already thinking I am in way over my head, with meetings 2x a month, and service projects 2 Saturdays a month. You can all count on getting Girl Scout Cookies for Christmas. Wish me luck as I try to memorize the words to "Make New Friends, but Keep the Old", "God Bless my Underwear" and many other silly cheery songs. Was anyone else ever a girl scout? I was only for a month, so we'll see if I can last longer this time.

Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater

We had a great weekend enjoying the new fall weather. It is so awesome to see the leaves change, and smell the crisp cool air. We went to a corn maze this weekend, and picked out pumpkins to carve. Hopefully, there will many more days like this before the rain comes!

Sunrise on Fire

This morning, the sky was on fire.
What is really cool is that it really looked exactly like this in person. What is happening is there is a very small amount of rain and as the sun was rising it shone through these raindrops creating a fiery backdrop, my only regret is that I do not have a tripod to get more crisp pictures.

Our Great Friday Night

Well, Marcella and I love our Tacoma Pickup truck so well, that we decided to post random pictures of it from time to time.......

The side view is exceptional, is it not?

I especially like the front, myself.

Wait, what is on the end of the bed there?

Ohh No!!
Holy Cow, What Happened?

Well, the truth is, someone hit us and my truck is a little bent up now. It will be fine but, everyone, this was my first accident and I am planning it to be the last.

Jayna Never Stops Reading

We almost got Jayna out of the book long enough to snap a photo.
Jayna loves to read and always has a book with her no matter where we go.

Who said white man can't jump???

The little Bryce man taking a jump shot with 1 second left in the game from the edge of the key and of course it went in. It was just another day on the court for the next NBA star.

Shock and Awe

Salmon Cakes

We went back to watch the salmon jump again, and since it's been warm weather here, they have shut down the salmon ladder and aren't letting any more fish in. It was so sad to watch hundreds of fish trying to jump up the dam, when we knew there was no possible way they were going to make it. After the fish had come all this way, they weren't going to be able to make it the last 20 feet. My brother sent me a link to a website that makes fun of those inspirational posters, and I thought this one was funny and appropriate. If you want to see more, you can look at them at

Quick Way to Post

The easiest way to post when you are on the family's main webpage is to hit "Blog This" at the very top and center (in the grey bar at the top) and erase everything that is on there, (title and link to our site) and you can post quickly. You will not be able to add a picture, or change the font, but it is a simple way to post something.
To post pictures you'll have to click on the "Blogger" button on the top lefthand corner of the grey bar on the top, sign in, then click on the "Smiths Meeting Place" link.
ERIC - Is there an easier way that you have found?

Coho Salmon

We had a super cool evening. We went down to a stream by our house and saw tons of Salmon jumping up the fish ladder! It was so awesome. I wish I had brought my camera. We even got to see a couple of them make it. Some of the fish were HUGE! Then when we got home, we saw a deer - right on our front lawn. All our neighbors were outside watching it, but it was dark and as soon as we got home, we kind of scared it away. Bryce, Jayna and Jayson chased it (quietly) down the street. It was really cool or as Lilly put it "It's nice to come home and see a deer in our neighborhood."

Mission Reunion

This is at our mission that we went to this weekend. We actually got in the computer and sent ourselves on paper!
