Most mornings we try to workout or at least go for a walk abound the city. This is some pictures we took on our 5 mile walk.
This is the oldest muslin mosque in the city of Vlorë.
Picture of a hole in the wall tire store.
What passes for a lumber store.
This is a lady we seen on our walk and later we took another picture of her.
This is the Lavazh (car wash) that we take our Makinë.
One of the real blessings we have here in Albania. The fruit and vegetables are all fresh and taste like right out of the garden. The other thing is most of the time they are inexpensive and always within walking distance from where anyone lives.
The road coming into Vlorë and as you can see the police in the middle of the road the pull over random makinë's. We have never been able to understand what it happening when they stop vehicles. When we have been pulled over we just speak English and they let us go.
The map of Vlorë as you inter the city.
A picture of an apartment building on our walk.
The little alleyway where the Branch first councilor lives (Vëlla/Brother Lusho).
These are lion head spouts hooked at the bottom of drain pipes from the roof.
These are some stairs that Elder Smith uses to run up and down several time when we go for our walk/exercise. Motra Smith is almost at the top and the makinës/cars you can see at the bottom.
One of the alleyways we go through on our walk.
This is a business on the boulevard.
This business is one Eric would like. If you look close there are knives, guns, and other fun stuff.
This business has an extra feature, bathroom scales. Yes you can weigh yourself for a price. I think it is about 10 cents. Some times your will see someone setting on the sidewalk and the only thing they have is scales and that is what they do all day for money.
This is one of the sad things we see all day long is someone going through the garbage. This is the lady we took a picture of earlier on our walk.
Where Motra Smith is turning is the alleyway where we go to our apartment. I took this picture because this hole in the sidewalk has been here since we arrived. It always has garbage in it and one day when we came out there was a makinë/car with its wheel stuck in it. Yes they drive on the sidewalks all the time. The blue building is a neighborhood grocery store.
