We had our second Vlorë Branch Family Home Evening. The first one was with all the members of the Branch and we had about 50 come and participate. This one was for the çiftë (Couples and Adults) and we had 18 in attendance with two investigators.
It was a success due to Motra Smiths great lesson and Motra’s Smith and Hodaj great desert. We started off by having a gather and mingle game of balloon volleyball with some music playing. It is so interesting to see which people start playing and who stands back. I would not have picked who ended up being the real athletic type.
We then had Motra Smiths lesion which she did on love of the scriptures. We read some passages from the Libri i Mormonit (Book of Mormon), talked about what the Prophets both old and new have said about the scriptures.
We then played a game of getting to know each other better with the colors of M&M’s. Each person with red, green, yellow, blue, etc. having a question they needed to answer about their likes or some event in their lives. Some were very personal like sharing their conversion stories. It was interesting to see what the investigators said because it was like they were members of the church and had been for years. The investigators felt loved and part of the group.
Motra’s Smith and Hodaj then went and got the desert and we all ate and talked for a long time. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and some of the couples wanted to have their pictures taken with President and Motra Smith after we had taken the group picture.
