Last night Motra Smith and I were able to witness a blessing that I believe is a first in Vlorë, Albania. We went to the Rrokaj’s home to be with the family to administer to the mother who is very ill. We went with Elder Swenson, Elder Knowles and us at about 8 PM Sunday evening. We had a prayer talked for a while, discussed a few scriptures and then it was time for the anointing and sealing. Motra Rrokaj’s husband Bardhyl performed the anointing of the consecrated oil and then her son Enea sealed the anointing and gave a beautiful blessing. After President Smith commented to the family how wonderful it was to have a father and son worthy to hold the priesthood of God and be able to bless their Wife and Mother. He also said that this use of the priesthood could not happen with any other family in the entire city of Vlorë. What a blessing it is to be able to witness such a sacred event.
