Makinȅ Trip

Mike chipped his front tooth so we were working to get a dentist who we could go to and would be able to fix the tooth. We went to a dentist here in Vlorȅ but that did not work because the dentist was much to busy. We needed to go to Tirana so we walked to get on a furgon going to Tirana so we could visit a Dentist. Finally after a mile walk in the hot sun we arrived at the place we catch furgeon’s, the one going to Fier was almost full but they still put in 5 more people. With the addition of 5 there were 12 people (in a 9 person furgon) we were on the go now and started on our way to Fier.

The normal time it takes to go from Vlorȅ to Fier is 45 minutes but to our surprise there was way too much traffic. Drivers who were wanting to get to Vlorȅ fast and those trying to leave Vlorȅ fast were doing silly things like trying to pass when traffic was coming from the other direction thus stopping anyone from coming or going. Most of the roads in Albania are two way two lane roads. To make things worst there were big heavy loaded trucks, several wedding parties and some funeral precessions so people were driving crazy. As we got to the worst place at the top of the hill where nothing was moving a police man on a motorcycle finally came and got the traffic moving again. By this time it had taken most of an hour just to get outside the city of Vlorȅ and we not even close to Fier. It took another 45 minutes before we arrived in Fier which ended up being a 2 hour trip. We caught up with the Zone Leaders who were waiting for us in Fier with Makinȅ.

Well I am sure you are wondering who is Makinȅ so because a picture is worth a thousand words here are some pictures.
